I have to leave at 4 to go to the airport in Cleveland. I went out a few minutes ago to pick up some lunch and discovered one of my tires is flat. So much for lunch… Hertz is sending someone over to fix my rental so I can make my flight. Flat tires aside… this day is already busy enough. I hope the weather holds up and flights are on time.
Flat Tire

Posted in Thoughts with tags blogging, readers, readership, swimming on November 14, 2007 by ScottOne of my coworkers is trying to track down my current blog. He found the old one… which is no big feat since my last name is part of the title. I doubt this one will be as easy to find. While it doesn’t matter to me if people I know read my blog… I’m certainly not going to help them along by giving them the address.
It made me think… I really don’t care if anyone reads my entries (on any of my blogs). I really don’t put that much organized thought into anything that goes on here. It’s all just disorganized ramblings. I don’t care if anybody finds this blog interesting.
I’ll find it interesting in a year or more when I come back across this. That’s why I keep a blog.
I went to Dick’s Sporting Goods last night and bought some swim goggles. It was a horrible experience… that will be a whole other discussion. I did have a good experience swimming in the hotel’s indoor pool… even though the pool is kind of nasty and old. I’m looking forward to swimming some laps again tonight. Aside from the chlorine odor, it’s very refreshing.
Failed Run Attempt
Posted in Weekend with tags biking, injury, crowded, trail on November 12, 2007 by ScottMy run failed tonight. Earlier today I biked 25 miles…. it was amazing outside. The bad thing about amazing weather is that everyone else notices it too and the bike trail is full of happy families weaving all over the place and getting in my way. I almost ran over at least two elderly people. I wonder if I will be unable to bike in a straight line when I get older.
I’m in a angry mood tonight. I’m not sure why… can’t put a finger on it.
I leashed up my dog (she is an awesome runner) and headed out as soon as the sun went down. I didn’t make it too far before I felt this shooting pain around my right ankle. I slowed down and circled around the block and went home. Martini (my golden retriever mix) was very dissapointed we didn’t go farther.
I’m sure its some temporary soreness from biking. I’ll try again tomorrow in the artic tundra (I fly back to Ohio tomorrow morning).
Another Saturday in Florida
Posted in Weekend with tags biking, dark, florida, ironman, ohio, running, traveling, winter on November 10, 2007 by ScottIt’s Saturday morning. The weather is unseasonably beautiful… there isn’t a single cloud in the sky. The Clearwater Ironman 70.3 race, a world class event, started about 2 hours ago. Its only about 20 minutes from where I live and I was too lazy to get up and go check it out. Maybe I’ll venture out to the bike route and see atleast a little bit of it.
I plan to do 20 miles on my bike today. I got a new clip-in system put on my bike yesterday and I need to test it out. Plus, the weather is amazing. I should also probably go to the gym since I haven’t been in two weeks.
Next week should be a good one. I only have to go to work for four days and then I’m home in Florida for 10 days straight before having to travel again. I might have to work some of those days from home but it will still be nice to take a break from airplanes for a while. Since April I’ve been traveling to northeast Ohio for work every week. So far it hasn’t been a bad experience but now its getting really cold there. The cold dark days depress me a little.
Running in the evening is often the highlight of my work day. I try to do it everyday but thats not always possible. Sometimes everybody goes out for a few drinks after work and that negates any possibility of a run. Sometimes I’m just dead tired after work. Now that the winter has hit and the days are short… I run in the dark (most of the time).
